Status Levels

The following table shows the differences in levels of access for each status level on the ORExt Training and Proficiency site. 

The following information is the required ORExt training modules for each status level. Additional ODE trainings may also be required. Training must be completed annually to maintain status with the ORExt system. 


Account-In-Training (AIT) - All users until proficiency tests have been passed. 


Alt-SEED Only User - Adult who knows the student best. The Alt-SEED is now required for all grades, including grades 9 & 10. For those who only need to administer the Alt-SEED for grades 9 & 10 the following training is required: 

  • Module 1 - Overview of the ORExt
  • Module 3 - Rostering and Monitoring


Qualified Assessor (QA) - A teacher, speech pathologist, school psychologist, administrator, or other appropriately selected school personnel who has received ORExt training and passed the proficiency tests.

Training Requirements: 

  • Module 1 - Overview of ORExt
  • Module 2 - General Test Administration
  • Module 3 - Rostering and Monitoring
  • Module 4 - Electronic Administration of the ORExt
  • Module 5 - Paper/Pencil Administration of the ORExt
  • District Test Security


Qualified Test Coordinator (QTC) - A school staff member who has received the ORExt training and passed the proficiency tests. It is recommended, but not required, that the QTC have previous experience with the ORExt. QTCs who will also be administering the ORExt will need both credential verification and test administration verification.

  • Module 1 - Overview of ORExt
  • Module 2 - General Test Administration
  • Module 3 - Rostering and Monitoring
  • Module 4 - Electronic Administration of the ORExt
  • Module 5 - Paper/Pencil Administration of the ORExt
  • Module 6 - Admin Training
  • District Test Security


District Test Coordinator (DTC) - District Personnel who manages the ORExt in conjunction with the SPED director and has received the ORExt training and passed the proficiency tests. Along with ODE required training, the following ORExt training is also required: 

  • ORExt Module 1 - Overview of the ORExt
  • ORExt Module 6 - Admin Training


Note: Appropriately selected school personnel are defined by the state and require certain minimum qualifications including educational certification and/or licensure.
